Monday Morning and a Weekend Recap

Happy Monday! Who am I kidding, who really looks forward to Monday morning? Not I! If you do, more power to you and I want to know your secret. I hope my dropping and breaking the entire container of Shatto chocolate milk this morning is not an indicator of how this week will go.

Prior to the chocolate milk disaster, my alarm “went off” at 5:30 this morning. By alarm I mean my soon-to-be four year-old son, Cooper (often referred to as “C”). I could do without the 5:30am part but how could I not love seeing my happy, smiling mini me first thing in the morning.  I mean, look at that smile!

Meet, Cooper!

Weekend Recap

It was a busy weekend around our house. Friday was happy hour with a coworker and a birthday meal with an old friend who I have not seen in a year.

Saturday afternoon I bravely ventured to Ikea and bought C his first big boy bed, the kids KURA loft bed. *Insert my begging and pleading for him to stop growing here.  He will be turning four next Friday (I just realized it is NEXT WEEK!) and it is time to move him out of his toddler bed. He’s my first and only so it is veru likely I have a bit of the over protective mama thing going on.

Sunday was the gym, Costco, errands… the usual Sunday type things. I was able to lift for the first time in a long time! I can’t walk today but I love that feeling! I will go into my shoulder surgery and activity restrictions in a future post. I cleaned out and donated four huge trash bags full of toys and clothes. That was tough! Who knew I would develop such a strong emotional attachment to a piece of his clothing?!

I spent a considerable amount of time this weekend googling how to do this whole “blog” thing right. What did i find out? Not much. I do know that I need to figure out how to design my page and find a sense of what my voice is. I think that will happen over time but I’m not exactly known for my patience!

How was your weekend?

  1. I hope you have a better week! My son will be 2 in a month and I have been emotional thinking about it. He is still in a crib and has never once tried to climb out( I know he could!). I wonder how much longer that will last 🙂
